'Modern' architecture was developed in the 20th century as a rejection of classical styles. Pieces usually feature unpredictable shapes, usually non-linear, and modern construction materials like steel and glass. Modernism is closely related to minimalism, they share asthetics. The style often seeks harmony between interior and exterior spaces while eliminating unnecessary decoration. Although critized for many for being unique, modernist architecture frequently hosts technology companies and institutions with a 'visionary' focus.
