A little about: Cape Cod Architecture

Cape Cod architecture originated in colonial New England during the 17th century and is known for its simple, practical, and symmetrical design. Traditionally built to withstand coastal weather, Cape style homes are known for steeply pitched roofs, central chimneys, shingle siding, and modest rectangular layouts. In the 20th century this style saw a revival and demand in cozy suburban areas. To this day Cape Cod is one of the most recognizable styles from the United States.
