The STORY
(This photo was drawn and digitally animated in Procreate by me.) The year is 2000 (Y2K!). In the country of ATINA (kind of America, capitalized for style points), a man from VEDANA CITY of VEDANA (VEDANA = kind of Nevada) publishes a 115-page thesis titled “THE DEATH OF ATINA.” The guy makes many claims, but his main one is that in 100 years, the country of ATINA won’t be sustainable for any form of life due to the death of its god, AMASUKEROHA, and the annexation of the world by an evil, lowly god, POSELLOPEO. Essentially, the world of ATINA will end, and everyone will die. Some sort of mass hysteria forms around this thesis, and a new religion inspired from the essay begins to form in VEDANA. After a year or so, the fad was over, but the ‘prophecies’ lived on. Time then jumps to December 31st, 2098! ATINA is largely barren and lifeless, though there are still a couple million people left in certain cities, one of them being VEDANA CITY. The country is stuck in a state of perpetual summer, with the lowest annual temperatures only reaching 50 or 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The schools have shut down, leaving the kids and teens of the city to roam aimlessly or shelter themselves from the heat at home. Life seems bleak. In this city, two trios of teenagers have gained quite the reputation around town. The first group, dubbed “The Evil Kids,” (stupid and cheesy, I know, but that’s kind of the point) consists of two rich best friends (Stacey and Aria) and a mysterious, rowdy boy (Marcell) who functions as the de facto leader of the trio. The second group, dubbed “The Good Kids,” consists of two odd siblings (Kenji and Hajime) and a rambunctious tomboy (Rosy) who functions as the de facto leader of that trio. These two groups, as their names might imply, do not like each other in the slightest, and can frequently be seen fighting (verbally and physically) around town. They’ve fought each other for so long that their reason for doing so has become cloudy, but they both know this: they don’t care for the world ending as long as they can find peace with their friends. So, in a weird, twisted form of logic, they fight for peace. On New Years Eve, 2098, a man given the title of The GUIDE approaches the two trios and informs them of an unpublished prophecy of his. He recalls a vision of six kids saving ATINA by becoming so powerful that they fuse together to become the ultimate entity, restoring a sovereign control in a seemingly abandoned world. The GUIDE claims that these destined six kids are Rosy, Aria, Kenji, Stacey, Marcell, and Hajime, and that they must work as a team to save ATINA. However, when the kids hear this, their reaction is, “Yeah, that’s a fat load of crap. And even if it’s not, I’d rather die than work with the Evil/Good Kids.” The following morning, New Years Day, a giant tower sprouts from the dry VEDANA ground, and an angel calls Rosy’s name. “Find me…and the REBIRTH of ATINA shall begin!” ***That’s about all I have officially scripted, though I have many, many drafts for future scenes. I’m planning to divide the story up into chapters, with seven chapters in total (I promise that the whole seven chapters idea wasn’t meant to copy Toby Fox. It’s by pure coincidence that there just so happened to be seven major bosses in the game). All of the characters have lots of lore, and there ends up being a big plot twist (that I hope isn’t compleeeeetely predictable) that completely changes the goal of the game. But I don’t want to spoil anymore so that in 5000 years, when this game finally comes out, people who have read this webpage will be able to play it spoiler free. |
