Altocumulus clouds are midlevel and appear as a patchy or wavy layer of white or gray. They often form in rows or groups that partially cover the sky. They are formed when air rises and cools down, and moisture in the air condenses, forming these characteristic fluffy clouds that are seen all year round. Usually signaling a warm front, a rise in humidity, a chance of precipitation, and an atmosphere instability.
