Helicopters and Rotorcraft
Helicopters and rotorcraft are some of the most unique aircraft in aviation because they can do things normal airplanes can't. Instead of using forward speed and fixed wings for lift, helicopters use spinning rotor blades that allow them to take off vertically, hover in place, and land in tight areas where airplanes would never fit.
Rotorcraft are used in all kinds of situations, including medical emergencies, search and rescue missions, military operations, firefighting, and news reporting. Helicopters like the Black Hawk, Apache, and Bell 206 are well known for their versatility and ability to operate in difficult places. In cities, helicopters are often used for traffic reporting and emergency transportation, while in remote areas they can deliver supplies or rescue injured people quickly.
Flying a helicopter is very different from flying a traditional airplane. Pilots constantly have to make small control adjustments to keep the aircraft stable, especially while hovering. Even though helicopters can be more complex and harder to fly, their flexibility and maneuverability make them one of the most important types of aircraft in the world.
