General Aviation Aircraft

General aviation includes almost every type of flying outside of the airlines and military. It includes everything from small training aircraft and private planes to recreational flying and business travel. Aircraft like the Cessna 172 and Piper Cherokee are some of the most common examples and are often used by student pilots learning how to fly.

One of the biggest parts of general aviation is flight training. All professional airline pilots started in small GA aircraft at local airports before moving on to larger airplanes later in their careers. General aviation is also used for aerial photography, medical transport, sightseeing flights, and even emergency services in remote areas.

What makes GA interesting is how personal it is compared to commercial aviation. Smaller airports, hands-on flying, and friends give pilots a very different experience from the airline world. For many people, general aviation is where a passion for flying truly is.
