Golf's Long Game

The long game in golf refers to the shots played from longer distances on the course, usually using clubs like drivers, fairway woods, and even irons. The goal of the long game is to hit the ball very far while still maintaining accuracy, to be in position for the next shot. A powerful and consistent swing is also important because long shots determine how easy the rest of the hole will be. Professional golfers tend to spend many hours practicing driving distance and swing mechanics, in order to improve their game. Success in the long game provides a major advantage during competitions.
