Calendars

Introduction

Throughout the ages, humans have implemented various ways of tracking the passage of time. Time is relative. The modern Gregorian calendar relates time to the sun and the cycle of the earth around it, meaning that the calendar has days that are dependent on the rotation of the earth, and years that are dependent on the orbit of the earth around the sun. However, this does not mean that all calendars are based on this. Many other calendars track time in a different manner with different definitions of days.
