Candy In Modern Culture

In modern times, candy has become a booming industry that continues to grow. To maintain the industry, companies continue to invent creative flavors and forms of candy to appeal to buyers. Sometimes, new candies are not even made to be enjoyed. For example, Jelly Belly has created a game called BeanBoozled out of jelly beans. The game involves each color of jelly bean having two flavors associated with it, one good, one bad. When you pull a jelly bean, you do not know what flavor you get, you just hope for the good one. Some of the flavors are absolutely vile, ranging from toothpaste to barf. Other flavors of candy have been taken to extremes as well in the form of sour candies. On the other side, candy companies have become more innovative, with brands like M&Ms making a variety of fillings for their chocolate candies like brownie batter, pretzels, peanut butter and jelly, and cold brew caramel flavoring. These examples only provide some insight to the way the candy industry has continued to develop to meet the desires of the changing human race.
