Language
Vietnamese is one of the hardest languages to learn, even though we're using the Latin alphabet but when Vietnamese people speak, they have different tones of the word, not like Japanese. For example, cái bàn means table but when we change the sign of the word differently, for example, bạn means friends. That's the tricky one, also we have a lot of rules about the word, like đang means you are working on something now, but đan means you knit something. According to VietNam's history, we have had a lot of wars and it changed our language as now. In ancient times, they used old Vietnamese and it keeps changing and changing to now. Our new generation has our language like teen code in America but honestly use teen code just to make the conversation more joyful. There has approximately 70 million words. It is a rich and diverse language with a long history and a wide range of vocabulary. Also, some words depend on situation so be careful.
Note-if you wanna travel to VietNam, no worries, The people are very friendly and some of them can speak a lot of languages just for business, but if you are unlucky, then it will be fine just say English and they will help you, our previous generation may know a lot of languages, not only English so feel comfortable to enjoy the time in VietNam.
