Give Advice to Your Younger Self, What Would You Say?

There is always something that a person regrets not doing in their life. Whether it was not going to that internship, or choosing the wrong college, I asked people what is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self. Through extensive research on what someone would give as advice to their younger self, the most common answers were:

Learn from your mistakes

While this may seem cliche, it is crucial in shaping a young someones mind. If we do not learn from our mistakes, there will be no growth in understanding. According to Forbes, quote, Mistakes help move you forward, make you interesting, and enable you to learn and grow into a wiser and more compassionate human being and a better leader, end quote.

Try Harder in School

One thing that people do not realize growing up is how important their grades can be. One bad grade can affect your GPA. This number is crucial when deciding on your future college and your job in the workforce. Not only does this mean working harder to get these straight As, but it can also imply when doing your research. What most people don't understand is that making big decisions can require a lot of background knowledge. It is important to make sure you know enough about what you are talking about to be fully confident in your decision.

Relax

Lastly, the third most common answer was the complete opposite of number 2. While some people believe that they did not try hard enough for good grades, the other half believe that they spent too much of their time not relaxing. These people claim that they wish they spent more time doing what they love, rather than following the footsteps of great achievers.
