Kyiv
Kyiv, a city along the Dnieper River, is the capital of Ukraine. It is an important city in Eastern Europe because of its historic landmarks, big buisnesses, and educational institutions. As the most populous city in Ukraine, it also makes the top ten most populous cities in all of Eastern Europe.
One of Ukraine's most famous landmarks, the Saint Sophia Cathedral, was completed in Kyiv during the eleventh century. The building boasts Byzantine architecture combined with Ukrainian Boroque style. It was named after Istanbul's Hagia Sophia mosque.
