The Swords They Use

There are three swords in fencing:Foil, Epi, and Saber.

The foil is for thrusting only and its goal is to target the torso. It is a Lightweight, flexible blade, with a smaller handguard The Epi is also for thrusting only and it is for targeting the entire body head to toe. Heavier and stiffer than a foil, with a larger, dome-shaped handguard to protect the hand, which is a valid target. The Saber is for cutting and thrusting targeting the upper half of the body. A lighter weapon than the epee that can be used to both thrust and slash with the blade's edge, with a rounded guard protecting the hand.
