Napoleon was born on August 15, 1769 on an island called Corsica. Napoleon's family was not very wealthy, but he still got an education in France. After graduating from his military education, he became a lieutenant in the French army. Napoleon's rise of power came when he was offored a spot in the French government. Eventually when his military plans didn't go so well, instead of getting killed by the British, he was exiled to an island.
