Featured in almost every depiction of the western frontier, the saguaro cactus may be the most stereotypical cactus there is. However, this fascinating plant is more than just a pop icon; for instance, the saguaro can live for up to 200 years, grow to be 45 feet tall, and weight over 4 tons when fully hydrated, all while residing in some of the most unhospitable places on Earth!
