Rosa Parks was a very infulenial woman who had faced many hardships, she is most commonly known for her action of being arrensted for sitting in the front of the bus. Born on Febuary 4, 1913 she is known as the "mother of the civil rights movement". She grew up under the Jim Crow segregation laws, but still sucessfully registered to vote. She was an active member of her local NAACP chapter. She was awareded many awards for her cilvil rights work such as the Presidential Medal of Freedon and a Congressional Gold Medal.
