The Byzantine Empire had started in 330 AD when the Roman Emperor Constantine moved the capital to the ancient Greek city of Byzantium. Which was named Constantinople by Constantine. The gradual crumbling of the western half of the Roman Empire had made it dissolve and left The Byzantine Empire alone, which was called the (New Roman Empire) for a long while until it was renamed into the Byzantine Empire known today
