Shawn Mendes was exposed to fame at the young age of 15. After this, he kept releasing music and was constantly on the road doing tours for 7 years. He also felt violated by the industry and the public for invading his personal life and spreading harmful rumors about him. This eventually led to him breaking down and having to cancel his Wonder Tour in 2022 to seek treatment and find himself and who he is.

From there shawn took a break from the industry to find himself and his passions. He started to create a life outside of the industry and explored the world and different cultures to learn about them and himself more. He then came back to the industry with a healthier approach and released his album, "Shawn".
