The Little Ships
The Little Ships were 850 privately owned British ships that helped evacute soldiers from Dunkirk. They not only helped evacute soldiers, some acted as ferry's. They would bring soldiers from the beach to the British destroyers. Other ships took soldiers from the beaches directy back to Britian. Many brought food, water, and other supplies to the stranded soldiers. Lastly, somes ships were given artillery and provided a cover fire for those on the beaches.
